Preschool preparation

Preschool education at the Chytrá Sovička kindergarten is intended for children in their last year of attendance before starting primary school.

The aim of preschool preparation is to support the all-round development of the child in terms of social, emotional, intellectual and physical development and to create a solid foundation for a successful start in primary school.

Preschool preparation in our kindergarten

Our educational program naturally includes adequate preparation for preschoolers. School preparation is therefore an integral part of every day.

It is good to know that signs of school maturity include not only the child's age, but also mature visual perception (visual discrimination), auditory discrimination, graphomotor skills and visuomotor coordination, adequate intellectual abilities, memory skills and correct speech. Furthermore, the ability to concentrate, emotional, work and social maturity are essential.

We also work with parents to choose a suitable elementary school.

In cooperation with Mensa Czech Republic, we are also able to select a suitable elementary school for extremely gifted and talented children.

We provide references to elementary schools based on the personal experiences of our current and former clients.

Compulsory attendance of preschoolers

Conditions for Excusing Children from Attendance

Unexcused Absence Policy: If a child’s absence is not excused within 3 days from the time the child did not attend preschool, the legal guardian will be asked to provide a justification for the absence. The legal guardian is required to submit the reasons for the child’s absence no later than 3 days from the date of the request.

Method of Excusing Absences

If a child’s absence from preschool is known in advance, the legal guardian must notify the preschool, including the reason and expected duration of the absence, well ahead of time either by email at chytrasovicka@gmail.com or in person at the preschool.

Legal guardians of children attending mandatory preschool education (PPV) are always required to excuse their child’s absence in writing, either on paper or by email. In the case of a planned absence, guardians must request the child’s release from education, which will be recorded in the absence log.

If a child falls ill, has an accident, or cannot attend for any other unforeseen reason, the legal guardian must notify the preschool no later than the following day, including the expected duration of the absence. This notification can be made by phone, email, or SMS.

For children attending PPV, a written excuse must be provided upon the child’s return to preschool, and it will be recorded in the absence log.

Ways of Fulfilling Mandatory Preschool Education

The Education Act allows three additional ways to fulfill mandatory preschool education: individual education, education in a preparatory class (the preparatory level of a special primary school), and attendance at a foreign school located in the Czech Republic.

If the legal guardian decides to fulfill the mandatory preschool education through one of these options, they are required to notify the preschool in writing no later than three months before the start of the school year in which the child is to begin mandatory education.

During the school year, the obligation of individual preschool education can only begin from the day the notification of individual education is delivered to the preschool director.

Specification of Fulfilling Mandatory Preschool Education

This takes place through regular daily attendance on weekdays for 4 hours a day, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (the right to education throughout the school’s operating hours is not affected).

Attendance in preschool is not mandatory on days that fall within school holidays, in accordance with the academic calendar of primary and secondary schools; however, children still have the right to attend and receive education at the preschool during its full operating hours.
